Itinerary

DAY 01

ARRIVE HONG KONG

Arrive in Hong Kong and transfer to your hotel where you can relax and get acclimatized with your new surroundings.

DAY 02

KOWLOON WALKING TOUR (B)

Our Kowloon city tour begins from the heart of this bustling metropolis, is the beautiful and tranquil Nan Lian Gardens, designed as a traditional Tang Dynasty area for contemplation. These meticulously kept gardens feature a miniaturized interpretation of traditional Chinese landscapes. From there, enter the peaceful atmosphere of the Chi Lin Nunnery, where Buddhist nuns meditate and seek enlightenment. Then, experience something totally different at the Taoist Temple of Wong Tai Sin, home to three religions (Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism), its natural setting and beautifully ornamented buildings make it as much a scenic attraction as an important religious center. Worshippers pray for good fortune through offerings, divine guidance and fortune telling. Feng shui enthusiasts may notice structures representing the five geomantic elements: the Bronze Pavilion (metal); the Archives Hall (wood); the Yuk Yik Fountain (water); the Yue Heung Shrine (fire), where the Buddha of the Lighting Lamp is worshipped; and the Earth Wall (earth). Other areas of the complex include the Three Saints Hall, the Confucian Hall and the extravagantly colorful Good Wish Garden that is lavishly decorated with chinoiserie. Afterwards, return to your hotel for a free afternoon.

This afternoon is free at leisure. Perhaps, take a self guided tour to Hong Kong’s Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, Flower Market and Goldfish Market.

How to get there : Exit from hotel and turn left to the subway station. Take the Tsuen Wan Line to Prince Edward Station Exit B1. Proceed along Prince Edward Road West to Yuen Po Street Bird Garden. Pass through the garden to the junction of Yuen Po Street and Flower Market Road. At the end of the road, get on Prince Edward Road West and walk along Tung Choi Street until you reach the Goldfish Market. The charming Chinese-style garden on Yuen Po Street includes some 70 songbird stalls as well as courtyards and moon gates. Look and listen, but please avoid physical contact with the birds. The colorful and aromatic Flower Market sells everything from Dutch tulips to exotic orchids, while the Goldfish Market on nearby Tung Choi Street is where you can find more than just those friendly little orange creatures: aquariums, corals and exotic fish also abound here.
