Itinerary
Welcome to Yogyakarta, a vibrant city on the island of Java, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and traditional arts. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the charming town of Magelang.
Accommodation: MesaStila Resort and Spa Magelang (Plantation Villa)
Start the day at your own pace by participating in the resort's daily wellness activities, then join an afternoon tour of the on-site coffee plantation. Beginning at the hotel's historic 1828 Club House, a knowledgeable guide will take you through the plantation, providing insight into the coffee-making process, from cultivation to grinding.
Stroll through the terraced fields to observe how organic coffee is grown, handpicked, and sun-dried. You'll witness traditional Javanese roasting and grinding techniques at the coffee shed. The tour concludes at the rustic coffee bar, where you can enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Javanese coffee along with herbal drinks.
Afterward, visit the mushroom cultivation house and finish the tour at the vegetable garden, where the hotel grows organic produce used in its restaurant.

Continuing our exploration, we visit the Sonobudoyo Museum to delve deeper into Yogyakarta's cultural treasures before venturing to Kota Gede, the epicenter of the city's renowned silver industry. Here, we witness skilled artisans at work in a bustling silversmith's workshop, showcasing their craftsmanship passed down through generations. Our journey culminates with a visit to the magnificent Prambanan Temple complex, an architectural masterpiece boasting three main temples dedicated to the Hindu triumvirate of Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu. Indulge in a sumptuous lunch overlooking the grandeur of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. * Prambanan Temple is closed on Mondays and Nyepi Day (March 11, 2024), while the Sonobudoyo Museum is closed on Mondays. The Sultan's Palace has specific opening hours, with closures on Fridays and Mondays.

Our adventure begins early today as we depart for Solo, northeast of Yogyakarta. Here, we explore the vibrant Pasar Klewer, renowned for its textiles and diverse array of produce, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of local traders and shoppers. Continuing our expedition, we venture to Mantingan, where we discover a market famous for its teak, mahogany, and avian trade. Marvel at the bustling atmosphere as vendors showcase their wares, creating a sensory spectacle unlike any other. Our journey then takes us to the picturesque Pujon Highlands, where we delve into agricultural villages renowned for producing dairy products, garlic, and shallots. Immerse yourself in the rustic charm of these villages as you witness traditional farming practices and interact with local communities. Finally, we arrive in Malang and check into our hotel in the evening, ready to unwind after a day filled with exploration and discovery.

Our journey commences in the early hours as we depart from our hotel in Malang around midnight, heading towards Penanjakan to witness this natural spectacle from a vantage point (weather permitting). As the first light of dawn breaks, marvel at the ethereal beauty of the sunrise, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, casting a magical glow over the volcanic landscape below. Following this mesmerizing experience, we continue our excursion by climbing Mount Bromo, offering a different perspective and unparalleled panoramic views that will be etched in your memory forever. After descending from Mount Bromo, we journeyed to Probolinggo village to check into our hotel, with the remainder of the day free to relax and rejuvenate at your leisure amidst the natural beauty of Bromo Tengger National Park.
*Please note that the walk-up Mount Bromo is not recommended for those with walking difficulties. However, horseback riding is available for an additional fee (please consider the treatment of the horses).
*Please be advised that the ideal time to visit Bromo is during the dry season (April to November), and night temperatures can range from 30-40°F throughout the year. Additionally, due to the popularity of Bromo Tengger National Park, the viewing platform at Mount Penanjakan may be crowded during weekends and public holidays.

Upon reaching Ijen, we check into our hotel, where you'll have the remainder of the day free to unwind and explore at your leisure amidst the tranquil surroundings.

Prepare for a remarkable adventure as we embark on an excursion to witness the otherworldly beauty of Mount Ijen's sulfuric crater lake. This experience promises to leave you awestruck. Rise early to savor a hearty breakfast before we begin our journey. Traveling in a rugged four-wheel vehicle, we traverse idyllic rural villages, passing by lush coffee clove plantations and verdant rainforests that paint a picturesque backdrop. Upon reaching the slope of Mount Ijen, we begin our hike to the crater rim, ascending to an altitude of 9,183 feet. The trek takes approximately 90 minutes to two hours, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. At the summit, take a moment to marvel at the surreal beauty of the crater lake and witness local miners descending into the crater to harvest sulfur, a sight both mesmerizing and humbling. After descending from Mount Ijen, we proceeded by private car to Ketapang Harbour, where we boarded a ferry bound for Bali. Upon arrival in Bali, we continue our journey by car to Pekutatan. The total travel time from Ijen to Ubud/South Bali is approximately five hours.
Relax and unwind at our accommodation, Puri Dajuma Pekutatan, nestled amidst serene coastal surroundings, offering spectacular sea views.

Commence on an enlightening journey at the State Farm of Pulukan, where you'll discover the intricate process of rubber production, a cornerstone of Indonesia's export industry. Spread across expansive grounds, Pulukan is adorned with lush coconut and banana plantations alongside fragrant clove and vanilla trees. Gain insights into rubber cultivation and witness firsthand the various stages of production at the rubber processing factory. After an educational tour, we return to our hotel to freshen up before continuing our scenic drive to Ubud, Bali's cultural heartland. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Ubud, surrounded by lush forests and cascading rice terraces.
