Admire the distinctive architecture of Taipei, including the impressive Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, see the world’s most extensive collection of Chinese artifacts at the National Palace Museum and visit Hsing Tian Kong, a Taoist temple. Pinglin will introduce you to Wanshan Baozang Tea and educate you on the Taiwanese tea culture before participating in a traditional tea ceremony and exploring the local farmland. Discover ‘stinky tofu’ at Shenkeng Old Street and sample the local delicacies of Taiwan. Visit the local wet market to select ingredients and tour the Ningxia Night Market to taste the best of local food. To top it all off, enjoy a unique culinary experience at a cooking class and learn how to create iconic Taiwanese dishes in a fun, immersive lesson.
ARRIVE IN TAIPEI
Upon arrival at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, you will be met by your driver as you exit customs into the arrivals hall and transferred to your hotel.
TAIPEI CITY TOUR (B)
This morning is free at leisure. In the afternoon, we set off for a Taipei city tour to gain a deeper insight into Taiwanese religion, history, and culture on our morning tour. See the impressive Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, built to commemorate late president Chiang Kai-shek. View the excellent example of classical Ming dynasty architecture at the Marty’s Shrine and witness the hourly changing of the guard ceremony and discover more about the former president of the Republic of China. Admire the world’s most extensive collection of priceless Chinese imperial artifacts and art treasures at the National Palace Museum. Visit Hsing Tian Kong, a Taoist temple devoted to Guan Yu – God of Justice. Stop at the Grand Hotel in Taipei’s Zhongshan District. The hotel’s main building is one of the world’s tallest Chinese classical buildings and plays host to many foreign dignitaries who have visited Taipei.
PINGLIN TEA PLANTATION/SHENKENG TOFU STREET (B)
Meet your tour guide in the morning and head to Pinglin, a beautiful mountain town surrounded by mountains and forests famous for growing Wanshan Baozhong Tea. Learn about the fascinating Taiwanese tea culture and experience a traditional tea ceremony from a revered master. Afterward, take a short ride to the Shiding District to visit the famous Thousand Island Lake. The natural terrain and climate make the surrounding area of Feitsui Reservoir ideal farmland for tea-growing. From the top of the hill, the neatly planted rows of tea look just like the symbols of Eight Trigrams. Then, stroll around Shenkeng Old Street to sample local delicacies. Shenkeng is well-known for tofu and the smelly and delicious “stinky tofu.” Here, you can find all sorts of tofu and tofu-related meals. Finally, we return to Taipei City to enjoy a relaxing hike along the Elephant Mountain hiking trail. This mountain looks like an elephant’s head from a distance and is a popular photo stop for panoramic views of Taipei city. Following your tour, you may choose to disembark at Taipei 101 or your hotel in Taipei City.

AUTHENTIC TAIWANESE CUISINE COOKING CLASS (B/L)
Head to a cooking school for a culinary learning experience. Learn how to make some of Taiwan’s most iconic dishes during a fun and hands-on workshop. Take a trip to the local wet market to select the fresh ingredients for our cooking class. Learn hands-on experience that incorporates traditional techniques and essential knowledge of Taiwanese cuisine. At the end of the cooking class, you will get a chance to sample some of your creations. After the cooking class, return to your hotel for a free afternoon.

NINGXIA NIGHT MARKET TOUR WITH FOOD TASTING (B)
Meet the guide at the hotel lobby, your local food expert, for a tour of the Ningxia Market. Ningxia Night Market serves up many types of mouthwatering Taiwanese small eats such as Deep Fried Taro Balls, Oyster Omelette, sesame chicken, Spring Rolls, and Papaya Milk drink. Your local food experts will ensure you taste the best dishes. You will be transferred to your hotel when the tour concludes.
