This 11-day tour takes you to an array of Vietnamese cities with their own distinct character, from Hanoi’s French colonial architecture and tree-lined boulevards to Ho Chi Minh City’s bustling shopping centers and towering skyscrapers. Keep your camera at the ready as you board a traditional junk sailing ship and view the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, and unpack ancient history during a walking tour of Hoi An.

ARRIVE HANOI
Arrive in Hanoi, after customs and immigration procedures, meet your local guide at the airport arrival hall for your transfer to the hotel for check in.
HANOI CITY TOUR (B)
Start the morning half-day city tour of Hanoi capital by walking along the Ba Dinh square area where you can view from outside some important buildings such as The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the National Assembly Hall, the Presidential Palace, the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Continue your morning excursion to the Quan Thanh Taoist Temple, The Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda and the iconic Confucian Temple of Literature before taking a walk to visit the Old Quarter. Afternoon is free for your own activity.
HANOI/HALONG (B/L/D)
After breakfast, depart from Hanoi and travel by shuttle bus to the seaside port of Halong Bay. On board the Bai Tho Victory Cruise, a beautifully restored traditional wooden junk boat. Enjoy lunch while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay, admire the fascinating formations on the way. Disembark and begin your walk up the 100 steps to the entrance of the cave. Follow the downward sloping path into the first cavern. Thien Canh Son Cave is comprised of three caverns in total, each one strewn with stalactites and stalagmites. Re-board the junk for free time to relax on the sundeck. Wrap up your evening with a Vietnamese cooking demonstration from the on-board chefs!
HALONG BAY/HANOI/HUE (B)
Greet the day on deck with a tai chi session as the sun rises, followed by breakfast in the restaurant. Board a bamboo sampan boat to visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village. Spend the morning cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay before returning to the wharf. Disembark and drive back to Hanoi for your flight to Hue, Vietnam’s Vietnam’s imperial past.
HUE (B/L)
In the morning, we visit Hue Imperial City (Citadel) and Royal Antique Museum. This afternoon is free at leisure.
HUE/HOI AN (B)
In the morning, we take a boat trip down the peaceful Perfume River to visit iconic seven-story Thien Mu pagoda. Afterward, drive along the coast and via mountain passes to Hoi An.
Hoi An is a former trading port that welcomed Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants between the 16th to 18th centuries. Today Hoi An is famous for its restored architecture, homemade silk, expert tailors and delicious noodles and seafood. Its relaxed vibe and pedestrian streets make this town a pleasure to walk around and discover new things. Set out with your guide for an afternoon walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market.

After breakfast, transfer to Danang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, transfer to the hotel.
HO CHI MINH CITY (B)
Our morning city tour begins with a photo stop at the Reunification Palace, once a symbol of the South Vietnamese Government. It was here on 30 April 1975, that the war ended when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. Then, visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, an iconic Saigon landmark built in neo-Romanesque style by the French between 1863 and 1880. Today it’s a favored backdrop for Vietnamese wedding photographs. Across the street from the Cathedral is the Central Post Office, designed and constructed by the renowned architect Gustave Eiffel, and take a moment to send a postcard! Continue to the busy Ben Thanh Market, an indoors market located in Ho Chi Minh City’s liveliest district. We visit the Thien Hau Temple in Cho Lon, a gorgeous 19th-century temple dedicated to the goddess Thien Hau. This afternoon is free at leisure.
