This comprehensive journey reveals the very best of what Japan has to offer. Begin in the bustling city of Tokyo and visit the scenic Mount Fuji and Hakone before boarding a Shinkansen (bullet train) to the historical and cultural heart of Kyoto. In Kyoto, you will get a first hand experience of the thriving geisha culture and visit some of this region's most incredible sights, such as the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle, Kyoto's stunning Imperial Palace, Nara's Todaiji Temple, the colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine and the beautiful Nara Park.

Itinerary

DAY 01 - DEPART HOMETOWN/TOKYO
Board your Singapore Airlines non-stop flight to Tokyo.
 
DAY 02 - ARRIVE IN TOKYO
Upon arrival in Tokyo, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

DAY 03 - TOKYO
Embark on a morning tour in this exciting metropolitan city, visit Meiji Shrine, nestled in a 175 acres tranquil forest, it is Japan's most famous Shinto shrine, dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shoken. Drive by the National Diet Building to see the imposing Japanese Capitol (the House of Parliament) dominated by a massive central tower. Wander through one of the vast inner gardens of the Imperial Palace before heading to Sensoji, the oldest and most popular Buddhist temple in Tokyo built for the goddess of Kannon. Browse through the Nakamise-dori shopping arcade, lined with many vendors offering typical Japanese souvenirs and traditional local snacks.Tour disbands on arrival at Ginza. Return transfer to hotel is on your own arrangement. The afternoon is free for further exploration, shopping or relaxation.

DAY 04 - TOKYO/ MT. FUJI/HAKONE (L)
Travel by coach to Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest mountain at 12,388 feet. Stop at the Fuji visitor center to see cultural art dedicated to Fujisan. Stop at Mt. Fuji's fifth station at 7,607 feet, you will be inspired by the beauty of the landscape. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride across picturesque Lake Ashi. Afterward, take a scenic cable car ride up Mt. Komagatake to the Owakudani volcanic valley, famed for its scenic views and kuro-tamago hot springs.
 
DAY 05 - HAKONE/KYOTO/NARA/KYOTO (L)
At Odawara Station, board a shinkansen (Bullet train) to Kyoto, the ancient imperial capital of Japan. In the afternoon, travel to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple and the Great Buddha, colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with 3,000 lanterns, and Nara Park (Deer Park), home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Return to Kyoto for a free evening.
 
DAY 06 -KYOTO (L)
In the morning, head out for sightseeing around Kyoto, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle noted for its beautiful interiors, and Kyoto Imperial Palace. In the afternoon, tour Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1001 impressive images of Buddha, vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine and Kiyomizudera Temple with its wooden veranda.
 
DAY 07 - KYOTO/TOKYO
Free at leisure until departure. Return to Tokyo by shinkansen (bullet train) in the evening. Arrive at Tokyo Station between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

DAY 08 - TOKYO DEPARTURE
Transfer to the airport by airport limousine  bus for your departure flight.
