Itinerary
DAY 01 - ARRIVE IN SHANGHAI
Arrive in Shanghai, the financial capital of China where you will be welcomed at the airport and escorted to your hotel for check-in.
DAY 02 - SHANGHAI (AB)
On your included city tour this morning, explore the Yu Yuan Garden, featuring the garden architectural styles of the southern part of China during the Ming and Qing dynasties where the pavilions, ponds, and man-made stone formations have formed 48 scenic spots in this small garden. Next, tour the Old Town, with its winding alleyways lined with shops, teahouses, and restaurants. Then, wander through the People's Square. Enjoy a stroll along the Bund Promenade, a lively riverside stretch lined with colonial buildings.
DAY 03 - SHANGHAI (AB)
Today is free day to explore the Expo at your own pace. Your tour guide will provide information with regards on the transportation to the Expo venue.

DAY 05 - ARRIVE BEIJING
Arrive into Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your local guide at the airport and escorted to your hotel. In the afternoon, stroll through Luilichang cultural street, once a flourishing cultural center during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) where scholars, painters, and calligraphers gathered to exchange ideas, compose poetry, write books, and paint pictures. Then, marvel at the Qianmen Dajie Pedestrian Street, lined with shops, teahouses, and restaurants.
DAY 06 - BEIJING (AB/L)
In the morning, visit the vast Tiananmen Square. You will also see the nearby National Grand Theatre (outside view), a dome-shaped performance art center that host a variety of performances. Walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace to the magnificent Forbidden City, which was home to the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years. Spend the afternoon at the Temple of Heaven, a complex of buildings representing the pinnacle of Ming and Qing architecture built in 1420, including the Hall of Prayer for good harvest, Imperial Vault of Heaven, Circular Altar, and Abstinence palace. Afterwards, visit the former Imperial Summer Palace - the famous royal garden that was favored by the Empress Cixi in the late 19th century.
DAY 07 - GREAT WALL/OLYMPIC SITE/HUTONG RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT (AB/L)
Travel to the northwest of Beijing to visit China’s most famous attraction - the Great Wall of China. Built over 2,000 years ago, it stretches 4,000 mile across mountains and valleys in the northern part of China. You will have the opportunity to walk along a well-preserved section of this true wonder of the world and admire the panoramic views. Return to Beijing to visit the famous 2008 Olympic sites - The National Stadium (The Bird's Nest) (outside view) and The National Aquatic Center (The Water Cube) (outside view). Afterwards, explore Beijing's Hutong residential district. While on a comfortable pedal-powered cab, discover the narrow alleyways of residential quarters where old traditions remain very much alive. You will also get a chance to visit the home of a local resident.
DAY 08 - BEIJING DEPARTURE (AB)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight.

You arrive in Hong Kong and transfer to your hotel by airport bus.

A morning tour of fabulous Hong Kong Island covers everything from the heights of Victoria Peak, with its stunning views over the harbor, to the market at Stanley and the colorful harbor of Aberdeen. The afternoon is free for shopping or sightseeing at your leisure.
DAY 07 - HONG KONG
Today is yours free to explore Hong Kong as you wish or attend one of the many Cultural Kaleidoscope program activities.
